Wheelchair Ramp Selection Tips
When choosing a wheelchair ramp,
there are 4 factors to consider: rise,
ramp length, weight capacity, and
ramp width.
Rise: Rise is the vertical
measurement from the starting point
to desired height.
Ramp Length: Dictated by the rise,
make sure that is ample clearance for
barrier free access.
Weight: Add the total weight of the
wheelchair/scooter to the user, then
make sure that number is under the
wheelchair ramps weight capacity.
Generally, our ramps can accommodate
600 to 700 lbs of total weight.
Ramp Width: Make sure to consider
wheelchair ramp's width. The landing point and
starting point must have enough
clearance on either side to lay flat.
