Description

The Invacare Top End Excelerator XLT Jr. is a recumbent handcycle built just for kids or small adults. It has the same great features as the adult size XLT which is available with 7 speeds with an easy to operate, hands-on reversing drum brake.The Excelerator XLT Jr's lightweight oval tube aluminum frame with chrome-moly steel fork features simple geometry for maximum stiffness and improved cornering. The enhanced aerodynamics and the 15° of camber increases stability. The tall, narrow back offers the maximum range of motion, support and is equipped with a chest strap. This extremely stable and maneuverable three-wheel handcycle is great fun for kids. Fits children that are between 38" and 60" tall.

Power
The XLTJR Handcycle is propelled and powered by using arms. 7 speeds, internal gearing, front wheel drive, 155mm alloy crankset with one chainring, adjustable height crank, Shimano 7 speed front hub with internal hub brake/free back up feature and 7 speed click shifting with Shimano internal drum or coaster brake. Optional Mountain Drive works like a transmission to gear down for climbing hills in each of the 7 gears in that there will be 7 regular gears and 7 low gears.

Safety System
Reflectors and a parking brake are standard and is in addition to the reversing drum brake/coaster brake. Seat restraint with hook and loop fastener is also standard. Safety options available include: mirror, safety flag, safety lights, helmet, leg guard and hydration systems.

Frame
Single main tube, recumbent style with pivot steering and raked fork for controlled turning and stability. Road crown compensator connects frame to fork for ease of transfers and less effort while propelling on the road. Adjustable fore/aft seat adjustments and transfer seat heights. Adjustable crank height and footrest system. Frame Tubing is 2.5 x .065 ovalized 6061 T6 aluminum frame with 4130 chrome-moly fork assembly for strength and stiffness. Handle Style
Foam covered ergonomic or horizontal hand pedals are standard. The horizontal handles are easier for young users to operate. Optional Tri-pin quad hand pedals or quad gloves are optional.
