A reasonable value
Review by frustrated with MS (Posted on 1/29/14)
The weight never includes the foot rests!! That's not fair and misleading.
It is difficult to back up because the front wheels get in the way. Only the more expensive styles resolve this problem. The big back wheels are a tremendous improvement for street use over 8" wheels for comfort and ease of movement.
I wish there was a very lightweight and low priced foldup chair that could be user driven so I wouldn't be dependent on transport style chairs.
Very good product.

Used for doctors appointments, going out to eat etc. Works much better than regular wheelchair. Hand brakes work great.
My wife's lifeline
Review by Bob, the OLD Guy. (Posted on 1/28/14)
The transporter is the only means of transportation for my wife of 60 years. It's convenient to take her shopping, eating out as it fits nicely under tables and easily fits in car trunk. It takes her from the bed to anywhere she wishes to sit because of its many excellent features. Without it we wouldn't still be together at home. And we plan to keep using them for many more years.
Excellent piece of equipment
Review by Ol Ben (Posted on 1/28/14)
Very easy to use and operate. Very well made, all parts are precision fit. Light weight, excellent park brake. Would recommend to any one needing a transport chair.
A good deal on a transport w/c
Review by Joe in health care (Posted on 1/27/14)
I liked the larger wheels on the back that are not available on some models. The fold down back rest is a definite plus in getting it in the car and storing it.
Also liked the ease of use of the squeeze grip brakes on the handles--easy to lock and unlock quickly. I opted to get a separate gel seat cushion for comfort. Wheelchairs can get pretty uncomfortable if you sit in them any length of time.
Transport Made Easy
Review by Carting Caregiver (Posted on 1/27/14)
This is the ideal wheelchair for getting someone to and from the hospital, doctors' appointments, and other visits and errands. It folds up to fit in my compact car, is lightweight enough for a small person to handle, and the brakes are out of reach for the patient (no runaways or crushed toes)! The only use I would not recommend it, or any other small wheeled transport chair for, is for walks on the boardwalk. We have the fire-engine red model and this feature alone is worth the price; it's beautiful finish sets it apart and it cannot be mistaken for the hospital's or most other peoples.' This product is one of the best things our family has purchased!
Is the best for the care of my father

A lot lighter than a wheel chair.
Easy to handle.
Excellent Choice for Casual Use
Review by Cruising (Posted on 1/27/14)
Purchased the Invacare Transport Chair for use on a cruise. It cost the same to rent as it did to buy so we bought. The Invacare Transport Chair was a life saver on the cruise and was handy through the airport as well. Nothing bad to say about the Invacare Transport Chair.
12" Real Wheel Transport Chair
Review by Bev (Posted on 1/27/14)
This is the best investment we have made. It enables me to travel stress free. I take it on flights, cruises (including shore excursions) and trips to big box stores. I also never have to be concerned about time restrictions.
Wonderful for short time

The arm rests are position too high for the low seat. Adjustable arm rests would be nice
Great set of Wheels !!!!!

Took my mother to Washington DC and we went everywhere with this chair. Easy to get on and off the Trolley, on and off the plane. Went to all the sites and she was comfortable and I was able to easily push her.
FLAT FREE TIRES SOLVE THE ONLY PROBLEM
Review by GENE, THE PATIENT (Posted on 1/27/14)
I THINK YOU SHOULD WARN PEOPLE NOT TO USE AS A WALKER. COULD BE DANGEROUS.
CAN I REFIT WITH NEW TIRES.
Just as Advertised!
Review by Grandma's caregiver (Posted on 8/20/13)
We use this chair as a back-up to a walker for my 92 you mother-in-law. When she's too tired to walk we pull this out of the trunk. Compact, easy to store. The local medical shop even ordered one for the store!
It's REALLY useful going up front porch steps-stable and not scary for the m-I-l. SO glad we have it...
Sturdy, transportable, bad tires
Review by S.Lowe (Posted on 6/28/13)
I was one of those that received the older version with the flat tires. The chair is great, sturdy and very transportable. However, I only gave it 3 stars because I am constantly refilling the tires. And the inlet valve that takes the air is in such an odd position, I can't just take it to the gas station to refill it. This means I have to lug my air compressor to my parents house to refill with air each time. When I called to order for new tires, the tires cost as much as the wheelchair. No thanks!
...just plain great
Review by Evy (Posted on 5/21/13)
The chair may be a bit uncomfortable, but that is easily taken care of with a cushion, so all in all, this is a great chair. Fits in my SUV and in my Mid-Size car trunk, and that is without folding down the chair's back-rest. It has a great turn radius, so it's easy to use in those tight turns. The air tires make it easy going on most terrains, but I did find them a bit hard to fill. However, I got a handheld air pump, the kind you use on sport balls and that has worked wonderfully. The hand breaks are also a great plus, no need to bend down to trigger them, they are right there at hand. I cannot tell you how many people at have asked were I have purchased it,[...]
wish it was lighter in weight

My wife needs it so when we go someplace I take it along and put it in the trunk of the car. I wish it was lighter. Lighter materials are available. I am 89 years old--that is why I wish it was lighter
Great Wheelchair [...]
Review by Bob the son (Posted on 10/24/12)
I purchased this product for my 92 year old father, who is ambulatory but can not walk long distances. It is perfect for trips to the mall or to sporting events. The chair is easy to fold/unfold and store, and lightweight enough for my petite wife to lift. Large wheels make it easy to handle. Chair feels very sturdy and safe, and my father is very comfortable riding in it. The footrests are the only area for improvement. Although adjustable in height, they are not adjustable "in and out" to allow a tall user more flexibility.[...]

I got this to temporarily use after foot surgery requiring no weight bearing for six weeks. I love it so much that I have also ordered it for my sister who has MS but still has the use of her legs, and her standard wheelchair is difficult for her to manipulate. "Walking" it with your feet is easy, and reaching behind to lock the brakes provides needed safety.
So light and so durable
Review by Daisy (Posted on 5/25/12)
The large rear wheels are wonderful on curbs and steps. The way the handles fold down is very convenient for the car/van and also in restaurants. One of best investments I've made.
Save your back!
Review by LLS (Posted on 1/27/12)
We bought this to use when I had to transport my parents to various appointments and they were unable to walk on their own. I was straining my back trying to lift their regular wheelchair, and had a tough time fitting it in the trunk of my little car. This is lightweight, easy to handle and fits nicely in my trunk. We're not using it now - both parents are ambulatory now, but I'm glad we have it on hand.
Its a great companion chair

New And Improved
Review by Greg (Posted on 11/22/11)
The new flat free tires and locking hand brakes are excellent for use on ramps and outside the home. This appears to be a quality made product with exceptional value [...].
Review by Caregiver (Posted on 11/8/11)
Purchased the chair for elderly husband who is having difficultly walking. Great to use for appointments and outings because it is so light weight. However, tires are continuously flat, I've had to have the tires inflated with every use, on several occasions had them go flat during an outing. Making it very difficult to maneuver.
Review by Back seat driver (Posted on 10/25/11)
Store it in trunk of car most of time. Due to light weight, collapses in small shape, easily pops open and closes, very convenient to use, in and out of stores etc. Easy maneuverability.
Excellent Except Serious Wheel Problems
Review by Bill (Posted on 10/22/11)
Problem 1: There are no bicycle pumps now available that can be used to fill the rear tires, because of limited access to the valves.
Problem 2: The front wheels do not swivel over 360 degrees.
good for emergencies
Review by Sue (Posted on 10/22/11)
We purchased the WC to take on a cruise to transport my 91 year old mother the long distances on a cruise ship. It was not used from time of delivery until the cruise, once we set it up to use the back tires had lost a lot of air and were soft but useable, luckily we could get them inflated on the ship. By the end of the 10 days the tires had lost some air again, I have purchased a bike tire pump to have when the WC needs to be used again.

Lightweight and easy to push
Review by Sue (Posted on 10/22/11)
If you expect to sit in it for an extended period of time, you may want an additional cushion.
easy to push, stores good, nice looking.

great for vacation trips and mall shopping.
Great except the tires
Review by Tom (Posted on 10/21/11)
We use when we go out to dinner, etc. It's great but the tires don't seem to want to stay inflated and it is hard to inflate because of the small size of the tires. I wouldn't have bought chair if I had known it had inflatable tires.
Review by Gene (Posted on 9/10/10)
We are first time users of this type of chair and found it very easy to use. If there is one issue that seems worthy to mention, it's the awkward handling of the foot rests. They have to be removed for the chair to be stored in the trunk of our car. A minor inconvenience.
I would buy this product again and again

Great chair for the price! Will make trips out of the house with my husband much easier. So glad I ordered!
This chair works for us.
Review by Susie the caretaker (Posted on 2/21/10)
I bought this chair for my mother originally to take her to my nephew's graduation. We use it to go to [...], the mall, to goof around a Branson, to the Doctor's office, and any other little trips we want to make. I did buy the seat cushion and she says it is very comfortable. I think I will invest in back pack before summer. My mother can walk some, but gets tired. This chair has been a great solution. It gets a lot harder use than I initially had thought it would, but it has held up well. It is easy to load in and out of the car.
Review by Intermountain West (Posted on 2/14/10)
This is the second travel/transport wheel chair that I have owned. It is just a great chair. It is easy to fold and unfold. It loads easily into our small car. I have health problems and use a few days a month. We also use it for my mom who is a spry 86 year old mom who had hip surgery. Regardless of who is in the chair, my service dog finds it easy to walk beside since it is so compact, she does not swing wide to miss getting rolled over. We go on assessable hiking trails and she uses it as a walker until she is tired then she hops in and we push it for a while. We have logged miles doing this. The one negative is pretty easy to fix. There is no strap that holds the folded chair shut. It would be easier to travel with if there was one.
Wonderful for our use.
Review by Swwtie Pie (Posted on 2/11/10)
I purchased this chair for my husband who had a stroke and it is difficult to walk any distance and tires easily. I wanted something small and light to get around the house and going to the doctor. A chair that goes thru doors with ease. It is just what we can use.
So far, so good
Review by Caregivers/Parents (Posted on 1/28/10)
We wish we'd known about this sooner. It's affordable, lightweight and easy to store. It's the perfect alternative to the regular, heavy-duty wheelchair our son uses. The only downside is we had to purchase a cushion since the seat would be uncomfortable for long-term sitting.
Mobility at it's best
Review by Greg, the concerned son (Posted on 1/15/10)
I sent this chair to my mom yesterday because my dad is having more difficulty, in self mobility, progressively day-to-day. My mom is not in that great of shape as well. She called after having received the chair and told me nothing but pros about the chair. I am very pleased she is so pleased with the chair.
