The Sound Monitor is a transmitter that alerts any Silent Call Legacy Series receiver to sounds such as a baby's cry, an apartment door buzzer, alarm clock, oven timer, etc. The monitor features a delay circuit so that loud sounds that are very brief (door slams, etc) will not activate the monitor even if they are above the detection threshold. When the Sound Monitor detects a sound that is above the threshold, it sends a signal to any Silent Call Legacy Series receiver (except the Shake-Up). The Sound Monitor uses two AAA batteries (included).

The Sound Monitor incorporates advanced processing to screen out most false alarms while retaining excellent sound sensitivity. Place the Sound Monitor as close to the sound source as possible. It will also detect a baby crying from several feet away at a minimum. The Sound Monitor can also usually be placed in a room with normal household sounds including conversations without false alarms. The small delay incorporated into the Sound Monitor ignores brief sounds such as door slams, regardless of how loud they are.
