This bedpan is useful when we Hoyer lift our patient above her motorized wheel chair, set her back down on the pan which presses into her air cushion chair seat. For comfort she tilts her chair during use and the lip contains the liquid. However, the back edge is thin and presses sharply into her skin. Therefore we use it only a few times a day and other times use a pan with a wide edge all around,and she doesn't tilt back.
