Comments about Invacare Invacare Veranda Manual Wheelchair:
I am a 52 year-old guy that uses this chair for shopping, going to the mall, etc. Since I can't stand for very long or walk very far, this chair has re-opened the outside to me. It's very maneuverable. I feel safe (not tippy). It's so comfortable that I find I can be in it all day if I have too without any physical side effects. All in all, a great wheelchair. Oh yeah...it's compact enough to store out of the way in my dinky apartment.

Comments about Invacare Invacare Veranda Manual Wheelchair:
Comfortable, smooth ride, padded armrests; this one beats any rental wheelchair! And the price is right.
We liked the Invacare Veranda so much that we just got another one for my mom.
Also, if the person riding can reach under the seat, then the under-the-seat organizer (by Case Logic), is a good idea to have as an accessory.
A 3' x 4' rug draped over the lower edge of your vehicle trunk can help while getting the chair in/out without damaging your car.

Comments about Invacare Invacare Veranda Manual Wheelchair:
The design is overall quite good - the frame is more robust than in other wheelchairs of this price range. However, two components make this unsuitable for long-term use: the seat back and the footrests.
The seat back is nylon cloth without any rip-stop - it tore off the chair in the first week of use. The seat bottom is reinforced to prevent this.
The swingaway footrests feel flimsy and bent slightly outwards where they meet the frame (but not to the point of being unusable) after a few weeks of use.
The wheels give good traction, and the wheel grip is textured plastic - much better grip than smooth metal.
Casters flutter at high speeds - only noticeable if you're used to pushing your wheelchair fast.
