The Roll-A-Bout walker is a medical device designed for everyone who has an injury below the knee. The injury could be a broken lower leg, ankle, or foot; an achilles tendon injury; amputation; or ulcers of the foot or leg. Replacing crutches, the Roll-A-Bout is designed for convenience as well as comfort and stability and folds easily for transporting and storage.
The individual places the knee of the injured leg on the knee pad, then rests the ankle on the rear support and propels the Roll-A-Bout with the good leg. To steer the Roll-A-Bout, the individual takes a step with the good leg while gently lifting the handle and turning in the desired direction of travel. The Roll-A-Bout comes equipped with brakes for controlled movement and added safety.

After ankle surgery, I couldn't deal with crutches (ouch!) and my Dr. disapproved of a wheelchair (DVT concerns). He suggested this device. It was fabulous--genuinely fun to use. It allowed me to be completely mobile, and I could speed around faster than other pedestrians! My young staffers found it very entertaining to play with, as well.

I slipped and broke my ankle and had to stay off of it for 3 months. As a full figure women it was hard to use crutches for everyday use. I had to keep working in a down town area and this walker made it possible. It is worth the money to purchase one. I loved it and I was able to continue to work.

I used this product three years ago after right foot surgery and felt it was great because I couldn't use crutches. I ordered the heavy duty model this time after left foot surgery because I wanted to use it over grassy terrain. But the model was VERY heavy. I also saw a newer type lighter model which has steering and is much easier to manuever.
