One of the most important things to determine before selecting a mobility scooter, is where you’ll be using it most often. If that place is your home or office, then you should look to purchase one of our indoor mobility scooters. These models tend to feature narrower bases and tighter turning radii than their outdoor counterparts. While they thrive in situations where space is limited, be aware that these units will struggle with difficult terrain and aren't a great option for bariatric users.
1800wheelchair stocks indoor (3 wheel), outdoor (4 wheel), foldable, lightweight, and heavy duty models, and we know we have what you’re looking for. We also have an extensive scooter accessories section, where you’ll find a variety of customization options to help ensure that the model you choose is a perfect fit.

Turning radius - If you will be using your scooter indoors, especially in your home, consider the width of your doorways, hallways and corners. Older homes and apartments are notorious for tight corners, make sure your scooter can accommodate your living space. Some of our indoor scooters have as low as a 30 inches turning radius; this means the scooter can do a 180 degree turn in only 30 inches of space! One popular model is the Zip'r 3-Wheel Compact Scooter. Note: you can find the turning radius measurement on the product page of every scooter and power wheelchair under the specification tab.
3 wheel vs 4 wheel scooters - Generally, 3 wheel indoor scooters will have a shorter turning radius there 4 wheel scooter cousins. This is mostly due to the shorter base length.
Overall width - Width, from right to left, is especially important when trying to navigate the narrow doorways in your home. We recommend that you measure the narrowest doorway in your home and make sure the scooter you're buying has an overall width that is narrower - by at least a few inches - then your narrowest doorway.
Weight Capacity - Most small indoor scooters have a weight capacity of 300lbs. If you are close to 300 lbs., we suggest you take a look at our heavy duty scooters.
Travel - Once you start to enjoy the freedom of a mobility scooter, inevitably you'll want to bring your scooter on your next trip or vacation. We offer a huge selection of travel scooters which fold and/or disassemble in small lightweight pieces for easy travel.
